I'm in Florida. Finally got an apartment. All checked in and ready to work.
My location? Magic Kingdom, Main Entrance and Parade Control!
The cruise was amazing. I ate a snail and got three free necklaces in the Bahamas.
I don't start work until Monday but I get my ID tomorrow so I will be playing in the parks until Monday.
My roommate is from Hong Kong. Which is awesome.
I am literally the luckiest kid on the whole freaking planet.
I am tired as heck, but I promise to update more within the next few days complete with pictures and stuff from our totally awesome fantastic five day cruise!

Guest Service Fanatic... Not!
I'm a bit disappointed. Since working here I've gotten 4 Great Service Fanatic cards. Those are really good to have because they go on your record card (which also holds the bad stuff about you like call ins and stuff). When you get one of those cards (usually from a leader) it comes with two copies. One for you to keep, and the other to put in the bucket in the Cast Services building. There, they take care of it and see to it that it gets on your record card.
Only one of my four cards has gone through. The first one I got. The second one I turned in, but it never made it to my record card. The third one I got the manager who gave it to me never signed it and I haven't seen her (or the other manager who was with her at the time) since then so I haven't gotten to get them to sign it, plus at this point I feel weird asking because it's been so long. And the fourth one I got tonight. I put it in my pocket, but I ended up running to cast services to catch the bus and it must have fallen out of my pocket as I was running.
Sad.
But on to a happier note. I'm going to be 20 in less than a week!!! Woohoo!
I got 50 hours last week, and because I got extended tonight (that's why I got my Great Service Fanatic card, because I was happy to extend when someone called in) I might get almost 50 hours this week as well (I also picked up two shifts one in strollers and one in American Adventure). Pretty exciting because I need extra money for Christmas.
Annnd, I work in Disney World! Seriously, not a week goes by that I don't just sit there, amazed at my amazing life. I love it!
I was surprised at how much I missed EPCOT. I only spent one week in Hollywood, but it was the longest I've been away from EPCOT since I've moved here. It was so nice to get to see my friends again and everyone asked me how it went and I didn't realize how much I missed it. I wonder how it's gonna be when I leave. Who knows? One month to go!

Deployment
Sunday was my first day in the new location, Hollywood Studios.
I bounced between two different stores during my shift. Mickey's of Hollywood (the toy store) and Keystone merchandise (the clothing/jewelry store). I way preferred Mickey's of Hollywood, however most of my time was spent in Keystone (go figure). A LOT of people from EPCOT Future World have been deployed there this week.
So they extended me also on Sunday night. Instead of working 3-9 like I thought they changed it from 3-1:30. Kind of a big difference, but hey, I like money!
Yesterday was our Thanksgiving. All of my closest friends since I've been here found one day and one time when we'd all get to celebrate together. Monday morning. We each took a couple of dishes to make and Heather and I went in on the Turkey together. I was also in charge of mashed potatoes and peas and stuffing. Some of the other things we had were 14layer jello, rolls, sweet potatoes, broccoli/cauliflower, green bean casserole, apple pie, pumpkin pie, etc. etc. There was so much food! I have pictures or it all. It was amazing! We ate it all and then Kelly had to go to work. So great, I think we'll be eating leftovers for a week.
As for today I'm going to Hollywood to work in about half an hour. I need to grab some food and stuff before I leave. I'm excited for the change of location and I like the people of Hollywood a lot, but I'll be ready for my return to EPCOT next week.

Rest and Relaxation
Yesterday my friend and I went to the beach. It could possibly be the most relaxed I've felt since I've been here! I can't even describe the feeling on the way home of just not having anything to worry about it. I wish I could just sit on the beach with nothing to worry about more often!
On the way home we went to Cici's pizza. Janessa had never been there before. After we got inside I went to go to the bathroom. Not to get all gross about talking about myself in the bathroom but when I went to take off my swimsuit sand just poured out of it. See, we covered each other in sand and apparently swimsuit bra cups love to collect lots of sand. I made a nice little mountain of sand on the floor. So I kicked it around a little to make it less obvious. Turns out it doesn't work that way. I felt really bad for whoever was cleaning that night. Heehee, oopsy!
After that we went to see the new movie A Christmas Carol in 3D. (No, sorry, not New Moon) It was awesome, but surprisingly scary for a kids movie. Or at least, I thought it was a kids movie until I saw how scary it was. Yeesh, I think I jumped out of my seat three different times!
Even though I spent most of the day yesterday relaxing I was totally exhausted after getting home. I took a shower and went right to bed. Mostly. :) This morning I slept in until... well, really really late. I know it sounds lame that I get two days off and I spend them practically doing nothing, but really I've been waiting for relaxation for such a long time that it feels really good to spend two day not going to Disney World. I haven't even changed out of my PJs today and don't intend to.
And I have accomplished some stuff. Sort of. I did my laundry, cleaned up the apartment, made my resume, sent out some emails, cooked some real food (yeah this is a big deal, I hardly ever have time for that) and read a book. I haven't read a book in so long I really missed it. But I just found out recently that at the Cast Services building we have our own little free library where we can check out not only books, but language learning software AND Disney movies! Awesome!!!
Tomorrow I begin work at the Studios (aka Hollywood). I'm really really excited for it because Hollywood could possibly be my favorite park (if my favorite park weren't EPCOT it would totally be #1). I love the show Fantasmic, and the ride Rockn' Roller Coaster is my favorite coaster in all the parks. They also have the show Lights Motors Action which is just about the coolest cars show on the planet complete with fire and explosions and stuff! Plus they've put up the Osbourne (sp?) family lights and I haven't seen the lights show yet.
While working there doesn't necessarily mean I get to do all that stuff (because realistically I'll be stuck in a Mickey Mouse store trading pins with six year olds) but before and after work I'll totally be taking advantage of it!
But for now I'm gonna go collect my laundry and then sleep a little more. Teehee! I LOVE having a day off where I don't have to do anything!

Deployment and Other Stuff
Today was awesome. I drove a friend to the bank this morning and then we stopped by the mall on the way home. After we got home I went out with some other friends to Magic Kingdom to ride Space Mountain. The ride doesn't technically open until the 21st but they opened it early for some parts of the day for "test runs." It was actually quite disappointing. The ride doesn't even go upside down.
After that was work. I worked until 1:30am. The parks have been so insanely slow lately. Which is why I got deployed.
Oh yeah! I don't think I've written about that yet!
I got deployed. To Hollywood Studios. This means that I will be working in the Studios the week of Thanksgiving in a store called "Mickey's of Hollywood." My costume is supposedly this super formal looking black and white skirt. Not the blue and pink stripped jumpsuit costume I thought it would be.
Anyway, so yes, I've been deployed starting Sunday, so more about that later. We're going to the beach so more about that trip later too (we're going on Friday).
And back to what I was saying about the parks being slow. EPCOT was so slow the other day that the wait for Soarin' has only been 5 minutes in the evenings. So the other day my friend and I just went back to back on the ride time and again after work. Pretty much amazing. :)
And I might get to eat breakfast with the princesses tomorrow morning. That's still a maybe though. I know, you'd think I'd know by now since it starts in like seven hours.
Speaking of the time, I'd better get to bed. Goodnight all!

Shift Pick Up
Oh yeah, I picked up a shift in the Magic Kingdom Thursday. My hours for the week passed 50 and that made me happy! I'm excited to see my pay check next week. Anyway, working in the Emporium on Main Street was fun! There were TONS of super creative costumes and it was fun handing out jewels from Neverland taken from Captain Hook to little kids.
One particular mom was having a lot of trouble keeping her kid in one place while checking out. So I went over to the little boy and showed him the jewels and gave him a handful and finished just as the mom finished checking out. I love distracting kids.
I got an applaus-o-gram today. That's when people come to the park and see you giving them super service and then they give you these little papers that say something like, "Hey, you're a cool cast member. Congrats." And it's good. Sort of.

Half Over
I picked up a shift in the Magic Kingdom for Thursday. In the Emporium. On Main Street. More on that later. :)
Our Holiday packages came in the mail yesterday. Yay! We get all kinds of awesome discounts and it all begins Oct. 25 and goes through the end of the program. AWESOME!
I can't believe the program is already half over! I can't believe how fast the time has been going. Things here are so stinkin' amazing. I would love to go on to be in the Professional Internship but chances are I won't because it's extremely competitive and I'm not quite cool enough. Most of the high up people (most, definitely not all) are super awesome people. I don't know if I'd ever be fun enough to get that high in a company.
Anyway, I have to go to work. I work every single day this week but I'm getting fifty hours! Yay!

Silly People
I lost my voice. It's just gone. Actually, it's not totally gone, but it's sure hurting my throat a lot.
I saw the Tinker Bell movie the other night. It was cute. I can't WAIT for the newest Disney princess movie to come out this December. The Princess and the Frog it's called. Apparently it's animated and just like the old classic films. I'm so excited for it!
In another side of things...
I get really annoyed when I get the whiny guests that I can tell like to just manipulate people all they can as a hobby. I don't mind giving real, genuine, decent guests free things. For example a little girl was crying the other day because one of her pins fell off her lanyard. I got down and let her pick her favorite pin from my lanyard and gave it to her. So cute and the parents were thrilled.
I had 46 hours last week, 48 this week, and 44 next week. Before I came here I figured if I could work between 40 and 45 hours a week every week while here I'd be fine. Guess what? I'm doin' fine.
The sad part though is that most of my shifts are 10-7 or 11-6 type shifts. And I only have one day off a week. So there's pretty much no time to play. Ever. My life basically consists of getting up, showering, making a quick breakfast, throwing a sandwich together for lunch, going to work, getting home, cleaning the kitchen, messing on the computer for about half an hour, cleaning some more, making dinner, going to bed. Every day. On my one day off I get really excited to sleep in.
And I just noticed it's almost 1am. When did THAT happen!? What the? Well, I have to wake up at 7am tomorrow so I'm going to go now. Anyway, hope this was a good enough update. :)

Loooooong Day at Work
I just finished my sixth consecutive day of work. Okay, not so bad.
But it was a 14 hour shift.
14 is a lot of hours. To be alone. In the same tiny store. With the same three questions being asked a gazillion times.
"Where is the bathroom?" (variations include washroom, ladies room, restroom, wash area, toilet, and anything else you can think of)
"Can I see your pins?" (usually followed by, "Can I trade this pin for...")
"What time do you close? What time is Illuminations? If the park closes at 9 and Illuminations is at 9... how does that work out?"
Probably the top three. My favorite though is "Excuse me, do you work here?"
Nooo. This is just my favorite outfit and I wear the Disney name tag to make myself feel special. And why I'm standing behind this register working it and giving children free stickers? I just like playing.
Anyway, I'm tired as heck. It was actually a wonderful day and I'm super glad it happened. Tomorrow I have off but it looks like I'll be playing chauffer all day. Long story. We'll see what happens though. I'm still working on getting out of it.

Oh yeah, this lady came in and basically tried something illegal and it's a long story but as soon as she found out I called a manager she fled and my manager is super happy with how I handled things PLUS the story got around to pretty much everyone I work with. I kept hearing as I was closing, "Dianna, what was up with this crazy lady I hear you had?" It was great.
We went to IHOP after work. I got chocolate chip pancakes. They were amazing but too many to be eaten at 2am.
I freakin' LOVE my job. And my life. And everything.
The end.

I created a Twitter account. Had to for my class.
For my job we're trained in theater. I've been stuck in theater sales a lot lately. This means that I stand in front of the wall of pictures and when someone looks interested I ask them, "Can I help you with anything?" And sell them pictures if they want them.
Yesterday I saw a guy just looking around and asked, "Can I help you with anything?" and he responded, "Yeah, do you have any food for me?"
This caught me off guard but I answered, "Yeah. I have a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the back. I'll have to charge you 20 bucks for it, though." "Hmm, let me guess, you made it yourself?" "Yep. Fresh this morning!" "No thanks, you probably piled on the peanut butter."
Yeah. You meet every kind of person in Disney World. Weird conversation.
These two middle-aged looking ladies came in the other day and were wearing matching flowery shirts. I complimented their shirts and then asked if they were sister. "Oh no, we just got married!"
How the heck do I respond to that!? Especially when I couldn't tell if they were being serious or not. "Ummmm. Goodie! Congratulations! ....I think."
I don't have work until 5 today. I got up slowly, watched a little TV, made a decent breakfast of pancakes and eggs, took a looong shower, put away the rest of my laundry (Finally!) and did other general cleaning and answering emails I haven't gotten around to yet. I finally RSVP'd to a pizza party next Tuesday. It's the beginning of my Management class kick off party thing. I'm pretty excited!

This caught me off guard but I answered, "Yeah. I have a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich in the back. I'll have to charge you 20 bucks for it, though." "Hmm, let me guess, you made it yourself?" "Yep. Fresh this morning!" "No thanks, you probably piled on the peanut butter."
Yeah. You meet every kind of person in Disney World. Weird conversation.
These two middle-aged looking ladies came in the other day and were wearing matching flowery shirts. I complimented their shirts and then asked if they were sister. "Oh no, we just got married!"
How the heck do I respond to that!? Especially when I couldn't tell if they were being serious or not. "Ummmm. Goodie! Congratulations! ....I think."
I don't have work until 5 today. I got up slowly, watched a little TV, made a decent breakfast of pancakes and eggs, took a looong shower, put away the rest of my laundry (Finally!) and did other general cleaning and answering emails I haven't gotten around to yet. I finally RSVP'd to a pizza party next Tuesday. It's the beginning of my Management class kick off party thing. I'm pretty excited!

Picked Up A Shift and Met With the Manager
Sooooooooooooo much to write about.
I picked up a shift for the first time yesterday. When you pick up a shift, it's generally in a different location. I think the point (and the reason they mostly just let College Program kids do it) is so you can meet new people and network more. Well I don't know about that, but I LOVED it!
I picked up a shift in strollers at the front of EPCOT so I wasn't very far away (maybe another time a shift will be available in a different park!). I was right beside the golf ball and it was so cool to look up every five minutes and see the typical "metro going by the golf ball" scene that so many think of when they think of EPCOT.
I started my shift just by collecting the strollers as people returned them(cleaning/disinfecting them, putting them away, etc.) as well as giving them to people as they came. Oh, and when I say "strollers" I mean wheelchairs too. Just we rented more strollers.
I had these two identical twin boys come (4 years old, so stinkin' cute!) and I played with them while they waited for dad to finish paying. It's funny just what little silly things can entertain a little kid, and then in turn entertain adults. Haha.
At the end of the night we had to walk around the empty park (with the water show going and lights in sidewalks) and look for strollers. It was awesome! The people there were really nice and fun to talk to as well.
Jean (my Chinese friend) asked me about more words today. She asked me what a "fighting machine" was. When I explained it means you're really tough she asked me what tough meant. Later, she asked me what "trick" meant. I tried to explain it to her but was having trouble. So I told her to give me a high five and then I moved my hand at the last second and said, "Haha, I tricked you!" I still don't think she got the meaning of trick-or-treat but hopefully it helped a little.
I read about the new plans for Magic Kingdom. It's gonna be AWESOME!!! Way bigger, more rides, and pretty much just incredibleness all around.
In other housing news our management here is possibly the best I've ever seen. We have a clean check this coming Friday and if we're super clean they buy our apartment treats! If we're too dirty they charge us each $20 and take pictures of the mess and not only post those pictures in the clubhouse (which is super embarrassing to look at by the way) but they said they send those pictures to future employers as well! I'm pretty sure we'll end up as one of those apartments who is just in between and doesn't get anything special or negative but hey. We'll see.
Maintenance is amazing too, though. When we report a problem (like our food grinder thing broke) they have someone over that same day within a few hours to fix it! Incredible.
Anyway, I've got stuff to do, places to be... ya know. But I'll try and post pictures here pretty soon!

What Does the Luckiest Kid In the World Get Paid To Do?
Today I spent four hours outside playing with glow toys. I played with these light up Mickey Mouse light sabers, glow necklaces, light up glasses, light up Mickey ears, swirly light toys, etc. etc. etc. I was also using the toy that you spin in circles and it says words.
They call it marketing. I call it fun.
I sold enough to more than double the money they made last night. Needless to say my boss was pleased. :)
Pretty sure it wasn't just me. I think it was more chance than anything, but still it was a DANG fun night.
Although I'll admit I almost cried when I had to go inside to count my money/inventory at 9:00. The fireworks show begins right at 9. Poo on that. But it was still DANG fun!
Yesterday I was in the shop playing with an Airzooka. You know the toy that shoots air at people. I was shooting these girls. It was awesome.
A few days ago I was playing and balancing golf balls on top of each other. I learned how to do it and it was fun having the guests try. Not many could. A lot of men came up and payed with it for about fifteen seconds before asking where the magnets were. I told them there were none, it was pure talent. One guy said (word for word) "Well the heck with that then! Come on guys, let's go." I was laughing so freakin' hard!
A little girl was in the store a few days ago. Her mom made it clear to her that "You can buy the stuffed Nemo, or the necklace. You need to pick just one. Which one do you want?" A few seconds after the mother left the little girl to decide I heard a squeal of excitement followed by the little girl's voice, "Mommy! I got an idea! How 'bout we just get both of them!!?" Good idea kid. Good idea!
A little boy asked me how much an item was just as his parents had finished paying for other stuff for him. I could tell by the parents faces that he was not allowed anything else. So I told him, "It's $19.95 except if you're parents don't want you to get it I have to tack on an extra $2000 charge." The kid looked at me, confused for a second as I saw the parents hold in a laugh. Then he looked around and said, "Wait... you're kidding, right?" Turning to his parents, "She didn't really mean that, right?" I replied, "Sure I did! If I'm gonna go against your parents wishes I might as well get something out of it!" Hahahahahaha!
While I have awesome people that I meet, and the majority of the people I talk to are amazing and incredible, I do get that occasional guest that puts a slight damper on things.
A little boy about three or four was walking by holding his parents hand. He stopped right in front of me, looked me right in the eye and said, "Will you give me a toy!?" Okay, I understand a kid that young not understanding the idea that things don't come free in this world and that it's super rude to ask a complete stranger to give you a toy. What I don't understand is why his parents, who were both right there and watched the whole entire thing, didn't say anything. Not only did they stand there silently, but they were looking at ME expectantly!! As if it was my job to give their kid free toys.
Okay, I know parents pay loads of money to get their kids into these parks, but seriously? Wow. I ended up saying, "No. But I can give you a sticker! Here you go." And I gave him a sticker. I kind of didn't even want to give him that because I wish he could have learned that that's not how the world works but whatever. That's not my job.
I have a ton more stories I'd love to share both good and bad. Actually, I think that's pretty much covers the negatives of my life lately. Cuz my life seriously is THAT FREAKIN' AWESOME!
But I have to go now. So enjoy this update.

What To Do In EPCOT For A Day
I never enjoy the part of a new job when I'm the stupid new kid who doesn't know anything, always asks questions, and makes gazillions of mistakes.
Fortunately, it makes me feel better to have my whine sessions at night with friends who make mistakes just like I do. But still....
I still don't know exactly how to close. They do registers completely differently than the bookstore did. And by "completely differently" I mean they don't even count money the same way. It's easier, as long as I can figure it out. It's easy work, but you have to remember every single step. And I'm pretty sure it's because my dad teaches accounting that I've learned to obsess over money and having something be off by a few dollars. Or cents.
I also make other mistakes though. If someone stays in a Disney Resort, we can send their merchandise that they buy to their resort free of charge. In order to do that, we have them fill out a green form and then plug it into the computer at the end of the transaction BEFORE THEY PAY and then keep their stuff in a back and put it in the back. (Okay so it's slightly more complicated than that, but you get the idea.) Well, I always seem to forget to plug it into the computer BEFORE they pay. It's no big deal, I just have to go back and do a resale and waste about three minutes of their time. I usually pretend like that's how it's supposed to go and most (or actually all so far) people don't really even notice or get upset or anything. But still, it's annoying to me and I feel stupid.
Then when we sort receipts at the end of the night I always forget which receipt goes in which pile and where each pile is supposed to go.
Just stupid stuff like that. People are very patient with me, but I still don't like being the stupid one. Hopefully it'll change soon. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Very. Very. Slowly.
On the brighter side of things I spent all day yesterday in EPCOT. And by ALL DAY I mean open to close. I woke up a little after 7 so Heather and I could get there right when it opened. And we did. So here's how I would recommend spending the day in EPCOT. Cuz we did it. And it worked. :)
We got into the park right when it was opening. We headed straight for Soarin' which is the most popular ride of the park. We were just going to get fastpasses (the line is usually 60-90 minutes long and fastpasses go quickly) but seeing that the line was actually only 5 minutes, we decided to walk on. And we did. And it was AMAZING!
Then we got fastpasses anyway for later, and headed to Spaceship Earth. The golf ball. It's not an insanely cool ride, but you just have to do it if you're in EPCOT. On our way to Spaceship Earth we were stopped as we walked through Innoventions and decided to play this piggy game about saving money. It was for little kids, but was fun, cute, and hilarious too.
So we rode Spaceship Earth after piggys and then went back to Soarin' to use our fastpasses. After our second round of Soarin' the International showcase had opened (it opens at 11) so we went ahead and went their. We bought our own little passport books and stopped at the kidcot station in each country so we could get our stamps. It was amazing. We stopped in China to eat.
The World Showcase took a few hours to complete but afterward we decided to do the other two amazing rides in EPCOT. We went to Test Track for fastpasses (you can only get a fastpass every two hours) and while we were waiting for the designated time to come back we went on Mission: Space.
Mission: Space is a very cool looking building and is built purposefully so that when a shuttle (like the one last week) take off from the space station you can stand in front of Mission: Space and watch it take off as if it's leaving from the building. Okay, so hard to describe, but just trust me. It's cool!
We rode Mission: Space which gives me motion sickness and spins you around in circles at 36 mph so you can feel your face pulling back, and then went to Test Track. Test Track is the fastest ride on property and is pretty fun.
After that we went in Mouse Gear which is the biggest store in EPCOT and looked around. Then we watched Chip and Dale play and sign autograph for a while. And then it was finally time for me to go to work. I had to be at work at 4:30. At 4 I went on up and got changed. I was kind of gross and sweaty from hanging out outside all day, but it wasn't too bad.
I worked until 10:30. I have the same shift today. Not bad. Today I would be playing too but my friends are going to the water parks and I don't think I could get home, dry, dressed, and back quick enough to make it worthwhile. So I'm takin' it easy, sleeping in, cleaning, eating and otherwise getting caught up on my life.

The Longest Post Ever
So much to write about I really don't even know where to begin. Just a warning, this'll probably be a super long, unorganized post.
I love my job. I work in three places. Imagination is the ride with Figment and I work in the store the guests go through after the ride. Today a little girl ran up to our table with the Figments and started hugging one. Her dad came right up behind her and said, "No honey. We are not buying the stuffed animal of the guy you've been crying at for the last ten minutes." Apparently she didn't like the ride.
Imagination is also the place where we take the pictures of guests and make it so they're flying over the castle or swimming with Nemo. Some of the pictures we can actually make a puzzle where you're sitting beside Hannah Montana and such. It's so fun.
The Land is another place I work and it's probably my least favorite mainly because I'm all alone there. It's a very small shop that mainly just sells candy. It's pretty slow and there's only one register so whoever's there is the only one there. Which means if we get low on something or have to restock, I can't do it because I can't go upstairs and leave the register.
Stickers. I give out stickers a lot though. I got bored of simply handing them out so I started making little kids earn their stickers. Today I saw a little boy maybe about 2 or 3. I went up to him and asked if he wanted a sticker and he smiled and said yes. So I told him he had to answer a special question first. "What movie is the fish Nemo from?" I wanted him to be able to answer it. He sat quietly for a second and just as I was getting worried he didn't know he said in the cutest voice, "Fineen Neenooooooo!" I gave him his sticker and he gave this way excited squeal and ran to show his parents. So stinkin' cute! I ask older kids harder questions like "What country did the girl who cut her hair and joined the army live in?" or I'll ask "What color are Figment's horns?"
Love it!
I also trade pins all the time. I have twelve at all times and if a kid wants to trade I have to trade. At this point I haven't really gotten "addicted" or anything. I don't feel like spending my money on that stuff. But it is fun while I'm at work.
I'm writing a lot about work because I'm on an eleven day working streak right now. But stuff happens outside of work. My friend Lis was just diagnosed with the swine flu. I spend a lot of time at her apartment and with her roommies so here's to hoping it doesn't spread to all of us!
I went to Walmart last night and on the way home I heard a loud crash and saw a bright red light in my rearview mirror. As much as I wanted to look I refused and kept my eyes on the road because I definitely did not want that to be me. A few seconds later a white car sped past me leaving chunks of white metal behind in it's path and weaving in and out of the heavy traffic. Totally freaked me out but my car's okay and I'm okay. I don't even know what he hit but I'm glad it wasn't me.
EPCOT's Illuminations. The park I work in and I can hear this show every night I'm working and have seen it several times and plan to see it several more.
It's extremely hard to get pictures because everything's is pretty much always moving and it's dark so you have to hold the camera super still.

Natalie kinda knew what I said but... yeeaaah. Anyway... We always like to sit in the back of the bus so we can all sit beside each other.
We asked the custodian to take our picture in Hollywood Studios. Natalie, Heather, me and Lis. Natalie and Heather both work in this park so they were our guides for the day.

Still in Hollywood, we watched Beauty and the Beast show which is when my camera died so I have no more pictures of that day. Bummer too because the Jedi training where the little kids get to fight Darth Vader with light sabers was super awesome!
Fantasmic. Heather's favorite show and the show for Hollywood. They spray water up and you can watch a show on the water as it's being sprayed. Incredible.

This is right before we went to the parks to play for the first time. Natalie, me and Kelly. We went to MK and it was amazing. We were super excited, but weren't close enough socially yet to act as insanely childishly excited as we were on the inside!

Kelly was so funny. She wanted her picture in front of the roller coaster while it was coming down. She turned around to watch for it and as soon as we saw it come she got really excited, whirled around and made this face of utter excitement. I'm still laughing. So cute!

I gave him his sticker and he gave this way excited squeal and ran to show his parents. So stinkin' cute! I ask older kids harder questions like "What country did the girl who cut her hair and joined the army live in?" or I'll ask "What color are Figment's horns?"
Love it!
I also trade pins all the time. I have twelve at all times and if a kid wants to trade I have to trade. At this point I haven't really gotten "addicted" or anything. I don't feel like spending my money on that stuff. But it is fun while I'm at work.
I'm writing a lot about work because I'm on an eleven day working streak right now. But stuff happens outside of work. My friend Lis was just diagnosed with the swine flu. I spend a lot of time at her apartment and with her roommies so here's to hoping it doesn't spread to all of us!
I went to Walmart last night and on the way home I heard a loud crash and saw a bright red light in my rearview mirror. As much as I wanted to look I refused and kept my eyes on the road because I definitely did not want that to be me. A few seconds later a white car sped past me leaving chunks of white metal behind in it's path and weaving in and out of the heavy traffic. Totally freaked me out but my car's okay and I'm okay. I don't even know what he hit but I'm glad it wasn't me.
EPCOT's Illuminations. The park I work in and I can hear this show every night I'm working and have seen it several times and plan to see it several more.
It's extremely hard to get pictures because everything's is pretty much always moving and it's dark so you have to hold the camera super still.

Natalie kinda knew what I said but... yeeaaah. Anyway... We always like to sit in the back of the bus so we can all sit beside each other.
We asked the custodian to take our picture in Hollywood Studios. Natalie, Heather, me and Lis. Natalie and Heather both work in this park so they were our guides for the day.

Still in Hollywood, we watched Beauty and the Beast show which is when my camera died so I have no more pictures of that day. Bummer too because the Jedi training where the little kids get to fight Darth Vader with light sabers was super awesome!
Fantasmic. Heather's favorite show and the show for Hollywood. They spray water up and you can watch a show on the water as it's being sprayed. Incredible.

Kelly was so funny. She wanted her picture in front of the roller coaster while it was coming down. She turned around to watch for it and as soon as we saw it come she got really excited, whirled around and made this face of utter excitement. I'm still laughing. So cute!

Random Stories and Work Stuff
I really do keep up with everyone else's blogs. Really I do. I follow everyone's blog who I know has one as well as a handful of extra blogs I've found along the way. But I hardly ever comment.
So there's that. I don't even know why I had to write that... whatever.
Work is amazing. I love it. I hardly have any free time at all and the little bits that I do have is spent playing with friends. My life is so freakin' awesome!
I worked a ten hour shift yesterday.
I'm on day three of my eleven day working streak right now. I started working Tuesday and don't get a day off until next Saturday. Tomorrow I work from 4:30pm until 1:30am. Goody.
We give out sticker to little kids at work. I got sick of just simply walking up to kids and being like, "Hey dude. Want a sticker?" So I started making kids earn their stickers. One little girl (I bet she was about one or two) I asked to make a face like a fish. This was when I was working "The Seas" so I was trying to stay on subject. I don't think she got what I meant so I sucked in my cheeks to show her. She tried to copy me and made the most adorable face I think I've ever seen. It was so cute and her mom and I started laughing and I gave her a sticker. She was so cute! Some other girls came in today a bit older. I was in Imagination and couldn't think of any "on topic" questions so I just asked them general Disney trivia. It was all really simple since a) they were very young and b) I don't even know that much Disney trivia. I think the kids are happier when they actually do something to earn their stickers though... but I still just handed out a bunch.
We also do this thing called "Magical Moments" with the guests. One "Magical Moment" is that we play tic-tac-toe. We get a lot of international guests, but I've learned how to point and grunt to the point where just about anyone from any country can understand what game I'm trying to play. The kids love it. One little boy (probably like 8) beat the junk out of me like three times in a row. It was pathetic. I gave him an arms length of stickers for that. He was smart!
The power went out in WalMart yesterday. Or maybe the day before... I get my days mixed up.
Anyway, I can't even begin to put everything that's happening in my life on here so that'll have to do for now. Bye!

Today At Work...
At work today a very nice man came in who had just been scuba diving in one of our tanks. I chatted with him as I sold him our SCUBA DVD and he went on his way.
He came back just a few minutes later. He asked if there was any way I could get him back up to the SCUBA locker rooms (which were now locked because that was closed) because he left his glasses up there.
I glanced up at the glasses sitting on his head and then back into his eyes.
I asked if it was his goggles that he left in the changing room. "No." he replied, "They're just my glasses. I searched all my bags time after time but I must have just left them up there."
Again, I glanced at the glasses sitting on top of his head hoping he'd follow my eyes that were continually moving up there. I still wasn't sure he had another pair of glasses, and I really couldn't think of any way to let him know they were on his head without making at least one of us feel stupid. Finally (mostly because I truly had no clue how to get him back up to the locker rooms) I asked him if he was looking for the same pair of glasses that were on his head.
He looked confused for a second and then slowly moved his hand up to his head, rolled his eyes... and the rest is history.
And that's how I got my boss to like me. :)

All the Goings On
All day long I think of thing after thing to post on here but then I sit down to post and I can't ever think of anything.
I got off work at 10:30 tonight. I took my final assessment and passed so I'm now able to pick up any Merchandise shifts anywhere in any of the parks or resorts on Disney property. Tomorrow I learn how to do photo image editing and learn how to take pictures of the guests and make puzzles and stuff. I'm soooo excited for that! It should be easy to pick up shifts because there's such a huge variety of locations where I can work. I could pick up a shift next Monday, but I'm still not totally comfortable with knowing the system well enough to pick up shifts. Maybe next week. I'm already scheduled for 41 hours next week! Yippee!!
All my free time is spent playing in the parks or sleeping. That's like, all I ever do. It's amazing. Today I went to play in EPCOT with Kelly before my shift started at 2pm. We went this morning so I basically spent like twelve hours in EPCOT.
Other things I'm gonna mention but realistically will never talk about are...
all the little kids I do pin trading with... one little girl started kissing the new chip and dale pin I traded to her yesterday, sooo cute!
how much I freakin' LOVE Disney World
I signed up for a People Management class starting in October and am super excited
I went on Mission Space and almost puked
It rains a lot here
I love free Coke from various countries
I got my new Driver's License in the mail and I hate it cuz it's ugly and the pictures sucks
I still haven't gotten in touch with the window fixer guy (no phone numbers work) and will now be known as "the girl whose window is broken" to the security guards at the front gate
Tuesday night is Papa Johns pizza night because we get 40% off there on Tuesdays (well, that hasn't actually happened yet because we didn't know until too late but maybe next Tuesday)
My roommate just took a picture of what she's eating because she "had all of the food groups" and "wanted to document it." Makes me laugh because I'd probably do the same if I ate cantelope, chicken and green beans in one go. Usually I blend my foods together cuz it's soooo much easier that way. Not those foods though because cantelope is gross.
I can't wait to go beneath Magic Kingdom
I haven't been sunburned yet but my tan has been getting darker! Yay!
There's a shuttle taking off tonight and apparently they built Mission Space so you could stand on one side of it and see the shuttle taking off in the distance and it looks like it's taking off from the building Mission Space (which looks like a planet so it's super cool). But yeah, the launch takes place at 11:59 tonight. Yay!
Pictures will come soon. I'm dying of tired right now but I don't work until noon tomorrow so I thought I'd update. But I'm gonna go now. So bye!

Lesson Learned
Don't leave your brand new box of dryer sheets in the laundry room even if you're only gone for fifteen minutes. They'll be stolen, however if your robber is nice enough, he/she may leave a single dryer sheet so that at least you can finish your laundry (thank you robber).
Fortunately, I had the sense of mind to bring my phone, keys, and card w/ money on it with me because I knew that anything and everything I left unattended was subject to being stolen. But dryer sheets? Really? Jerk...
In other news we played in Animal Kingdom all day yesterday. I called Gina, my friend from Idaho who worked in Animal Kingdom and she became our personal tour guide practically telling us where to go and how to get there. We did "It's Tough To Be A Bug" in the tree first. Natalie and Kelly had never seen it and even though I had, it was still hilarious and I was glad they enjoyed it. We did the Kali River Rapids ride and Kelly and I were the only two on the entire boat of eight that got totally soaked to the bone. So not fair! But at least we were cooled off. We also rode "Dinosaur" which I'm embarrassed to say actually scared me. We rode Everest and I screamed the whole time because it was fun. We rode Dinosaur and I screamed the whole time cuz I thought I would die. So amazing!
Then I came home and was so tired I just collapsed on my bed and slept for almost two hours. I had been texting a friend and I actually heard the phone go off a couple of times while I was laying there, but I didn't have the energy to answer it.
The I got up and ate too man cheez-its and felt sick. I did laundry and went to my friends apartment because I didn't want to go upstairs to my apartment. It was a fun night. My body woke up at 7 this morning and I couldn't get back to sleep and my bus doesn't leave for another half hour. I get to work all day today AND it's my first day actually in costume! Yay!

Playin' in the Parks!
I got to take my Traditions class yesterday. Afterward, we hurried home and changed clothes (it was professional dress) and went to the Magic Kingdom!
We hadn't really eaten all day so we ate a little in the MK and then rode a few rides (Thunder Mountain RR, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tiki Room-not really a ride, and the Haunted Mansion were just some of them) and watched the fireworks show which was so totally AMAZING! As we left the parade was beginning, but we didn't stay because two of us had to be awake really early this morning for training.
On the way out I had my bus schedule in hand as we went back to where the buses dropped us off. It takes a long time to get in the parks because the buses drop us off but we still have to ride the tram. Actually, on the way in we had to ask a guest for directions because we couldn't find the trams... needless to say we didn't tell him we worked there. Anyway, as we left I had my map out and we were searching for our bus. Then one of the worker men called me over. He leaned in close to my ear and said quietly, "You a cast member?" Worried I was in trouble I slowly nodded and folded up my map. But of course, no worries. He pretty much could tell I was brand new and had no clue where the bus was. He pointed to a small group of people in the middle of the parking lot and told me that that was where I needed to be if I wanted to go home tonight. I told my friends who were with me and we all went out there. I don't know what we'd have done if he didn't notice my map and the fact that we were all hopelessly lost.
This morning I got up bright and early and had to be at EPCOT by 8am. It's about an hour to get there by bus so I was out by 7. Part of the training was classroom, but the majority was out into the parks. We got a full tour of EPCOT. We even went on the Spaceship Earth ride in the giant golf ball!
We also went on a boat tour in the lagoon as we learned more about the park. So much fun!
Oh, and I got my costume today. I'll actually have three that I'll switch around. Part of my work area will be the "Living Seas" (that's for Dad!) but it's now something like "Nemo and Friends Sea Adventures" or something. Eh. Whatever. I had to go buy new shoes AND socks (I needed black socks). That was lame, but hey, I'm prepared!
Now I'm waiting for my friend to get off work so we can go to the parks. As tired as I am (I got like 5 hours of sleep last night) I really want to go play still. We're planning on going to Hollywood Studios today because Kelly wanted to ride the Tower of Terror. I can't wait to ride "Test Track" in EPCOT because it's supposed to be the fastest ride at the whole resort.
Anyway, I'm gonna go clean a bit now.
