On Costumes

I picked up another Safaris shift yesterday.  I really miss that place.  The people, the trucks, the animals, the trucks, the long breaks and the trucks.  I love it all!

Well, as I made my five minute walk down to my car, these guys in a golf cart came speeding around the corner.  I kind of jumped out of the way and they noticed me at the last second and slammed the brakes.  Then, the guy driving looked at me and his first words were not, "Oh, sorry!  I didn't see you."  No.  His eyes were all big, then he saw me, smiled and said, "Heh, I like your costume."  And they drove off.

Seriously?  I  couldn't help but laugh.

I'm normally extremely averse to wearing Disney costumes in public.  Any time I go to Walmart and see cast members with their IDs out and their Disney shirts untucked it just makes me mad.  I'm fairly certain they told us in Traditions not to ever do that.  And I'm a stickler when it comes to rules.  But yesterday, I was coming home from work and I was incredibly thirsty.  I don't have my water bottle anymore so I was in the hot sun all day with nothing to drink because the break room was out of cups.  I even went to the cafeteria on the way to my car but they were closed and had gated off the drinks part.  Including the water fountain.  The only water was another "fill up your cup" station with no cups.  Stupid.

So not only was I thirsty, but I was craving mac & cheese.  My ridiculous cravings made me decide to run through Publix on the way home.  I got out of the car and was halfway in before I remembered I was in my costume, still.  I took off my belt and nametag and unbuttoned my shirt (I had a white tank top on underneath, no worries, but I wasn't about to go into public with just that on).  And I went inside hoping to look as discreet at possible.

I didn't expect everyone to stare at me.  Even more, I didn't expect people to whisper about me as though I didn't have ears.  "Does she work at Disney?"  "Look, that's a cast member."  "Do you think she works in Animal Kingdom?"  I pretended not to notice as I drank from their water fountain for like five minutes straight.  I got up and turned and it was just like in Beauty and the Beast where they were all staring at me and as soon as I turned around they turned back to what they were doing.  So funny.

I grabbed my Mac and Cheese and headed to check out.  As the guy bagged my mac and cheese (and I asked him to un-bag it because I don't like wasting them) he struck up conversation.  "So, do you have to wash that costume yourself?"

I think I grossly underestimated how much I'd stick out.  Either that or people that shop at Publix just love Cast Members.

Which One's Best?

I'm constantly asked which of my three jobs at Disney was my favorite.  Merchandise in EPCOT vs. Main Entrance in Magic Kingdom vs. Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom.  Honestly, the answer to this question is not just a one word thing.  I loved parts of each one, and I've dreaded other parts.  And as much as I try, I can't weigh in and figure out which one, overall was my favorite.  They were all just different.

I loved Merchandise because I was always able to make the unhappy guest happy again.  I don't recall a single time I was unable to help out a guest in a positive way.  It was a simple job, in air conditioning, that was fairly low stress and fun.  My specific location was extra fun because it included the pictures that I got to take of guests.  I loved getting them to pose just right in front of the green screen and then "magically" putting it onto the background of their choice.  I loved the one-on-one guest interactions in this role.  I also loved that I could pick up shifts anywhere on property and there were constantly shifts available for me to pick up extra hours.

There were also several reasons why I didn't like this role.  I constantly felt terrible for making monetary mistakes or messing up counting or whatever.  It also got extremely boring.  The same old place selling the same old Merchandise every single day.  And it was nothing special... it was basically just like the bookstore I used to work at.  Same, easy, grunt work job that almost everyone in the world has had experience in doing at one point or the other.  Nothing big or exciting or different.  Plus it's sad that Figment is nearly gone, and no one hardly knows who he is anymore.  And I didn't like that my hours here were entirely unpredictable.  At least in my other jobs the parades are at the same times (or at least within an hours or so) and at my job now I'm off early each day... but in EPCOT I could literally have been scheduled anytime, morning, noon and night, and I had no say, whatsoever.

Now on to Magic Kingdom.  I loved going between turnstiles and PAC.  I absolutely loved getting the crowds energized.  Hearing the music to the parades and being around such great excitement, and getting others excited was absolutely amazing, and participating in Flag Retreat was just something else.  I got to watch the MK fireworks show (including the Holiday fireworks which normally cost extra, even for cast members) every single night to the point I practically had them memorized.  I worked with a lot more people my own age, and overall had a magnificent time.

Unfortunately, the biggest negative to this role was the amount I got yelled at.  For fairly good reason too.  At the turnstiles, people freak out when their $500 paper ticket doesn't work the first time.  And within the park during the parade, people are tired and exhausted at the end of the day with three screaming children and are at the end of their thread already when I have to go up to them and say, "I'm sorry, you may not watch the parade from here."  Hence me being cussed out at least weekly.  Almost daily.  Very, very hard on me.  But I learned a lot from it.  Unfortunately, it changed my perspective on people, making me think more the worst of people instead of the best.  I'm recovering from that and becoming more realistic day by day.

Now on to my current job!  Safaris!  My favorite thing about this ride, ultimately, is the people I get to work with.  Everyone is just so much fun.  I love how we have so many "outside" of work parties.  I love playing, and being silly, and goofing off.  I don't think I've ever loved a group of people so much... at least since the rescue squad I worked on.  I love talking about my job.  The hours are completely amazing. I'm off before 6 basically every single day.  It's also amazing to get to share stories of animals and guests... and sometimes the two combined.  Best thing ever!

But, it gets very boring.  I'll be honest.  There are times that I cringe to do another Safari, sick of repeating the same things about the same animals again and again and again.  It's hard on me physically, my back sometimes aches when I get home and my voice is just gone after working just a few days in a row.  I get a sore throat, and I can no longer sing.  Like, at all.  Which is really sad, I love singing.  And it's exhausting.  I never get any exercise, but I'm still just exhausted at the end of the day, not wanting to do anything.  But at the end of the day, I always have the biggest smile on my face that just won't go away because I'm so happy to be with so many great people.

I just wanted this documented at some point, since this is my last CP ever, hopefully.  Maybe it will help others decide what role to have.  Honestly, I've both loved, and been terribly annoyed, by every single role.  It really has been a roller coaster, but I wouldn't change any of my jobs for anything.  I'm so grateful for the experience of working all of them.  Hopefully, I'll love my new job as much as I love these.

Disney Memories...

The awesome thing about being a cast member, is that you get to take pictures like these:

I Love It!

My friend who's from China was asking me to help her edit some reference letters from her Chinese teachers.

I love how she makes me think of English in different ways. It's so second nature to me, and yet it's so hard for others. It makes me feel better about sucking at Spanish. Jean's English is actually really, really good.

Fourth of July

It was a fun weekend. But I'm too lazy to fully write about it. Basically, Disney World pretty much ruined all other fireworks for me. :) But the IF fireworks were still somewhat impressive I guess. I got a lot of homework done. It was nice having the apartment to myself!

I've been getting progressively more and more excited for school to end. Seriously, I don't even know what I'm gonna do Senior year if I'm already this psyched for school to be over. Not that I dislike school. I love friends and parties and weddings (oh my gosh, the weddings! ugh!) and learning and stuff, but really I have way more exciting things to look forward to.

First off school ends exactly two weeks from today. That in and of itself will be great! Two-ish days after that I'll be on my way home. We're driving. In a car. Across the country! 32 hours in a car. This is gonna be so much fun!

After that I'll get to be home for a few weeks! I can tell right now I'll be bored out of my mind, but my mom usually has a pretty long list of work for me to do. Plus I'll get to see the people in my home ward again!

Then we'll drive down to Florida. 12ish more hours in a car. Depending on how fast I drive. Heehee! I'll get to see my Grandma... maybe both my Grandmas. I haven't seen them in a while. Plus I'll get to see the new place my one grandma is living in. She's lived in the same house for like sixty years, so it's kind of a big deal that she moved.

Then I'll go down to Orlando. I'll get to see Kimmy who I haven't seen in a while (we may even be able to be roommates again! Long story....).

Then Heather and I will go on a five day cruise! That'll pretty much be the coolest thing ever. Especially since I've never really been on a cruise. At lease, not a real one!

Then Heather will leave and my other friend Laura will come. On the 18th Laura and I will check in to work at Disney World! I'll be in Main Entrance Ops and she'll be in Merch.

Now, if I can't be ridiculously excited about that, what can I be excited for?

Captain EO

When I worked at Imagination in Disney World, I heard rumors several times about how Captain EO would make it's return sometime in the "near future." For those who don't know, Captain EO was an attraction in the place where I worked from 1986-1994 centering around Michael Jackson. Since Michael died last year, they were talking about bringing it back in his memory.

I heard the rumors. I didn't care. I'm not really a die hard Michael Jackson fan. I wasn't totally sure where they were going to put the attraction, but I definitely heard people talk about it. I thought it was one of those rumors that was just a rumor though.

But it's true. As of two days ago, the new Captain EO attraction opened up in the place where Honey I Shrunk the Audience used to be, right outside the doors from where I used to work. Honey I Shrunk the Audience was a pretty good show in my opinion. But I'll be honest, it scared the kids.

I remember one day I was working in strollers. As people return their strollers I would sometimes make small talk with them. One particular family with a little girl came to return theirs. I asked the little girl what her favorite part of the park was. She said Test Track as probably 90% of the little kids enjoy that ride the most. Her dad then completed this by saying, "Yep, but she sure didn't like the snake in the Audience show." The mom of the family pushed her husband and said, "Don't remind her!" as the little girl began crying. I had to try really hard not to laugh. Apparently she was deathly afraid of snakes. And there was a giant snake in the 3D Audience film determined to freak out small children. That why the signs say, "Warning, may be frightening for children!" Although, the Ellen DeGeneres ride also says it's frightening and it isn't at all. Meh.

Apparently Captain EO is supposed to be frightening as well. I will have to see. The only ride at Disney World that seriously freaked me out was the Dinosaur ride in Animal Kingdom. I rode it several times and each time I can say I was genuinely freaked out of my mind almost to tears. It was awesome!

On Saving Money

When I worked in Disney World one of my roommates, Natalie, liked to be frugal. One of the things she did to save money was, instead of buying expensive tupperware, she would keep old plastic sour cream or cream cheese containers.

One morning, she made herself a lovely salad for lunch before work. She put in some carrots and lettuce and tomato and all kinds of delicious greens. She then put it in the fridge as she took her shower and finished getting ready for work. I watched as she happily went to the fridge, pulled out her salad in her giant sour cream container and chuckled to myself as I thought about other people at work might think she was eating nothing but sour cream for lunch. However, her idea was a smart one to save money.

She came home from work that night, though. Upset with me for not noticing and not telling her (sarcastically of course). Turns out she had two identical looking sour cream containers in the fridge. One with her lunch and the other with, surprise! sour cream. She took a container of sour cream with her to work for lunch. Gross!

Apparently, to make things better, she had taken it to work and a coworker did make fun of her for bringing the sour cream with her. She opened the container to prove she wasn't just eating sour cream for lunch. But failed. I love Natalie!

Disney Party!!

I was invited to a party tonight for people who were involved with Disney on campus. That's me! At first I almost didn't want to go because I doubted there were really a lot of students on this campus who worked in Disney World. But actually, there was a good thirty people there! It was great!

They had a Q&A session which was good for me because even though I've done the program before I still learned some things. Like the fact that while it doesn't count as an internship credit, it could count as a practicum credit for me. And I can be a campus rep next year and make money!

Most of it was a simple "mix and mingle" kind of deal. I had a nice conversation with this guy Denis who is going to be in Merchandise and when he heard that's where I worked he had a bunch of questions for me. I loved answering questions from people. It made me feel knowledgeable. But he asked one that I had a lot of trouble answering. He asked me, "What was the biggest thing you learned going down there?"

This was hard. If it were a college paper I could easily BS ten things that I "learned."

"Well, I learned a lot about how important diversity is. I learned how to provide magical moments for guests. I took a people management class and learned about managing people at Disney World. I learned to appreciate my superiors. Blah blah blah."

But this guy was seriously genuinely wanting to know if this was an experience where he could expect his life to be changed not only because of the fun he'd have, but because of how he'd learn and grow. It's harder for him to do the program because he's from Hong Kong, China. It's going to actually cost him money because he's an international student. So, what was the biggest thing I learned at Disney World?

I learned a ton of things. But the biggest would have to be that I got to not only learn, but see and experience how a Fortune 100 company runs from the inside out. I watched the organization of the company and how they kept up with checks and balances systems and did guest recovery and enforced their values that they as a company were trying to portray. I observed my managers and determined what worked with them and found what didn't work for some of them. I learned how important respect is within an organization and how respect ties everyone together. Respect for each other regardless of race or even personal issues is vital to running a smooth company and I learned how quickly people can (and maybe should) be booted out for a lack of respect whether it was for themselves or others.

Anyway, I won't stay on my soap box too long, but his question really got me thinking a lot. The party as a whole was fun. I'm super glad I went. And now I have loads of new thoughts and feelings running through my head.

The problem? I still have one exam left.

Two Trips

Wow. So this post totally can't beat my mom's on her blog. But I took a trip and a half this past week too.

On Thursday we drove down to Salt Lake City. We left at 6am. Ew! I rode down with my friend Allison (we did the Humanities tour together last year). Three vans went and I king of wanted to go in one of the vans the students were driving, but she wanted to go with the teacher. Because really, college students will stay up all night even when they know they're making a four hour drive the next morning. She knew the teacher would be more awake.

So down we went to Salt Lake. We went to visit the Museum of Art. It was okay. This whole entire trip reminded me a lot of Europe, except like a tenth the magnitude. We had similar assignments we had in Europe. But the museum as a whole didn't even compare. Our tour guide was all excited about the random artists most of whom I had never even heard of. The only ones I'd heard of were Church and Moran. And of course William Bliss Baker but that's only because I chose to primarily focus on him (he only drew like four paintings in his whole life) because his "Fallen Monarchs" is one of the most beautiful paintings I've ever seen. But anyway, this museum was small and a lot of the art was kind of sad. Meh. I'm too spoiled. This is the only museum I've ever been to where I actually enjoyed the modern art section more than the older stuff.

Anyway, we went to the "Creamery on Ninth" for "dinner" although we all got ice cream cones. They were gigantic too, it was great. We had to sit there and eat while our teacher ran to Little Caesers to pick up our pizzas for dinner. Dessert before dinner. Yum!

We spent less time at the museum and in Provo than we did in the car. I took a bunch of pictures in the car because we were really bored. Allison, Kathryn and I were all in the back seat. Kathryn slept pretty much the whole way down and the whole way back so we started taking pictures of her sleeping and zoomed in on her face. Then she woke up, told us she hated us, and went back to sleep.

We played the alphabet game. It was over in like five minutes which was kind of sad. We went backwards and we blamed it on that.

I have pictures. But none are really that great and I'm too lazy to post them on here at the moment. We got back to Rexburg at night so it didn't even feel like a real day since I didn't even see my own town in the light.

I don't even remember Friday. I had only one class. I think I didn't really do anything productive (except we made lasagna, it was soooo yummy!) thinking I'd accomplish everything Saturday. Except Friday night my friend called and asked if I wanted to go with her and her family to the fair in Pocatello Saturday. I totally accepted since it would get me out of Rexburg. So yesterday we drove down to Pocatello which is like an hour and a half drive.

It was worth it. I had to pay a dollar to get into the fair. But I got a free knife fancy paring knife from the cooking show as well as a free glasses shine/defog treatment thing. We also got to play on these workout machines where you stand on this vibrating surface and it moves your whole body. Weird.

There was a lot of cool stuff there. But all expensive. At the cooking show, they were trying to sell these uber fancy pots and pans. I'll admit, they were incredibly nice and he did a fantastic job showing them off. As he handed out the paper there was the different "sets" of pots and pans you could buy and beside it the price wasn't written (you had to listen to him tell you the price and then write it in). Kelly and I looked and tried to figure out what the prices were before he told us. We knew they'd be expensive. The first set which included four pots/pans and their lids we decided would be around $500 and the "family set" which included about eight pots/pans and their lids plus a cake pan we decided was like $1200. We were wrong. The first set that we thought was $500 was actually $1995 and the second one was actually $2495.

Yeah, I could possibly buy the pans. But then I would have no money for the food that would go in them. Not. A. Chance. But I will admit, they were very very nice cookware. They even gave us the food they cooked and it was fantastic. (chicken, potatoes, carrots (my weak spot), etc.)

We went to Golden Corral for dinner. I hadn't been to Golden Corral for dinner in a while. It's always a family place. I was surprised at how expensive it was. I thought a dinner there was around 7 or 8 bucks. It was over 10! But I got all kinds of amazing food that I haven't eaten in a long time, including steak which was incredible! Every food I got was stuff that I normally wouldn't be able to make or afford. Except the rolls (they have the best rolls though) and dessert brownies which I decided are not nearly as good anymore. They taste to preservative-y. I guess this lack of eating out is making it more obvious when I eat precooked/packaged food. Gross!

Anyway, it's been a fun past few days. Now all I have to do is finish up the last two weeks of school. I'm so excited it's almost over and I'm over half way through with college now! I can't believe how quickly it goes. But really, I'm also obsessing over Disney again. I can't wait to go back! Hopefully my roommates and friends this fall will be as amazing as last fall!

One Of Many Final Papers

I've been working on two final projects/papers today. Both for the same class. Yep. One class requires two huge final papers. And when I say huge I mean one is about 5-7 pages and the other is 10-12. So they're not really that huge. But still, they're important.

So the one I was gonna write about is the paper where I have to pick a company and basically analyze the heck out of it. I really wanted to pick Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. This teacher has shown "Office" clips in class, has a sense of humor, and loves creativity and new ideas. I was just slightly nervous at the fact that I'd be making the big final paper of the semester into a joke. And the fact that there's info I need to talk about in this paper that isn't available for Dunder Mifflin.

The benefit of using Dunder Mifflin is that it's dysfunctional enough that I'd have plenty to write about. But instead I chose a highly NOT dysfunctional company. Pretty sure you can guess what it is, though, seeing as how I'm obsessed with it.

Oh, speaking of Disney... ;) With my acceptance letter came a pair of 3D glasses and a black paper saying something cheesy like "Dr. Evilness is out to take over the world! Rescue the universe and log onto www.website.com and save the planets by doing Disney trivia!"

So I went to the website, put on my handy 3D glasses, and played their video game. Yes, I am that much of a dork. It's actually hilarious and cheesy! The cheesiest thing ever, but sooooo Disney! Basically you have to pick a planet to "rescue." You then have to click on the moons around the planet to learn trivia about the various aspects of Disney, and then when you've read everything, you have to "take over the planet" by doing a little quiz. When you win a planet you get a key. You then have more stuff to do with the keys. The rest is more complicated, but you get the basic point. Oh, and it's all in 3D.

I'm ranked number 13 out of I don't know how many people. I think at this point I've done everything in the game except "collect all the hidden mickey's." Love it!

Anyway, back to my paper that I should be working on....

Pirates Trivia... Sort Of

When I worked at Disney we worked a lot with pins. One of the pins sets is a Pirates set (actually I think there are a lot of pirate sets) from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I can't remember if I wrote about it at the time, but each pin in this set had some sort of Chinese characters on it. I asked the Chinese people I worked with to translate for me.

One of the pins translated in English as "Pirates of the Caribbean" and another was "The Black Pearl." But there was one pin in the set that no one could really figure out the meaning of at the time.

I remember asking Jean. She couldn't think of a way to describe what it meant. "It's a Chinese saying." She would tell me. "It's complicated.

I asked Evan. He probably described it best of all the Chinese people I asked. He said, "It's hard to explain. But it means that if someone does a crime. And then they are killed.... then the secret goes with them." I still didn't get it. So he took my pen. "If I steal this pen. And then I die... I am the only person who knows that I took your pen though. There's no way for you to prove that it was I who took your pen. Yes? Okay. You get it."

I couldn't believe how just the two or three characters on a little pin could say all of that. I never got what the saying was in English. But then, a short time ago we were watching Pirates of the Caribbean and there was a line in that movie that made me realize the exact English translation of what my Chinese friends were trying to tell me. There is a short English saying that could be said in place of the description my Chinese friends gave me.

Can you figure out what it is? I'm gonna feel like an idiot if I'm the only one who had trouble making this connection. However, at the time it didn't even occur to me that we would have the same type of saying in English so I didn't really think about it.

I'll post the answer in my next post if no one gets it.

The Return Of Walt Disney World

I got my acceptance letter today. It came in the from of an email this year. I guess Disney is seriously working on that "eco-friendly" image. I must say it's way less exciting to get an email. And it's way less exciting the second time around.

But I still squealed and called/talked to pretty much everyone I know who would care. I've already contacted all my friends from Disney and told my roommate and called the parents.

But I'm not in Merchandise this time around. I'm going to be in Main Entrance Operations. I don't totally know what this means exactly...

Oh well. I'm excited as ever! Time to celebrate! Pizza/movie/brownie party! Tomorrow night (cuz tonight's FHE). YAY!!!

Anxiously Waiting

I have to admit, this is not nearly as exciting as it was last year.

I applied for the Disney College Program on Feb. 1st. The letter should be here any day starting today pretty much. The excitement is building. And yet, there's no way it could even begin to compare to last year's excitement.

I have to say though I'm pretty bummed that the mail here never comes until 4pm. I'll be checking it as soon as I get out of class this afternoon.

I sure hope the letter comes today, because I want to buy pizza to celebrate/cry and Pizza Hut has the $10 Tuesdays deal where you can get any large pizza any way you want it for just $10! (no, I was not paid for that sentence... but it'd be nice if I was)

Anyway, on a completely different subject, we shot a film on Monday. Well, I shot the film. The other three were actually in it. If I ever learn how to put videos up on my blog I'll show you it. Well, parts of it. We have quite a bit of editing. But I have a blooper that's pretty entertaining. More on that later... maybe. :)

Boggles My Mind

I have this slideshow on my computer that filters through my photos... or the few photos I've chosen to put on this new computer. And I just can't help but be amazed at how ridiculously lucky I am.

It never ceases to amaze me, the wonderful works that we humans can do.

God's creations amaze me even more. If I had all of my pictures this would be better, but we all know what's in this world.

And it boggles my mind even more that I get to be a part of it!

Disney Interview

I completely forgot that my interview was today. I was in my bedroom getting ready for class when my phone rang. I went to pick it up and the number just said, "Restricted." That's when I remembered. I actually felt surprisingly calm. Completely opposite of last year.

So I answered in my happiest morning voice. The interview went fantastically! We talked about how I went on the college program last year and the whole time the feeling was more of a "you're gonna be accepted, it's just a matter of where we're going to put you" idea rather than, "are you good enough to be one of us?" I applied for merchandise, attractions, and main entrance as my top three. I asked to not be put in the same location I was in last time, even though I completely loved it and loved my managers. I asked for a busier place and I asked to please not be in strollers if they could help it. It was funny cuz I thought that by asking for not strollers she'd be kind of surprised that I was saying something negative, but instead she just said, "Okay, that helps a lot." And no, there was no sarcasm. At least that I heard. (I don't like strollers because it's a lot of hard physical labor and I get tired, hot and sweaty quickly).

At the end I brought up the PI and she actually helps hire for the PI as well as the CP. She told me I should go for it, but realize they're significantly cutting back on positions because of the economy.

She sped over some questions that had obvious answers and I was actually able to make her laugh a few times. I really think it went well. Although I shouldn't be too optimistic. Just in case.

For attractions, she asked me what the longest piece of information I've ever memorized was. I told her I'm taking an exam on the Gettysburg Address in two hours. She said in surprise, "Oh! Wow.... okay then." And then we moved on. :)

Yes. As of Saturday I could say the whole entire Gettysburg Address. And I am DANG proud of myself!!!

Now I just play the waiting game for 4-6 weeks. Although last year it was only two and a half.

Last Week of Disney

These are pretty random because it's hard to put pics up on blogger. But all of these pictures were taken pretty much from Christmas Eve on. Fun times!

Driving home from church one day the traffic was totally unbelievable. Around Christmas in Orlando it's ridiculous. So after we were stopped on the road for a few minutes I thought, "Hey, as long as I'm in park and no one's moving... why not save a memory?"

I held an alligator. Not this one. But one exactly like it named Popeye. I never put the story up here... but it was freakin' AWESOME!!!

It's awesome at night after all the guests are gone, but the water show goes on always. So I get to stand there in the solitude watching the show and hearing the music blast! It's so cool! Well, I mean not total solitude, but it's pretty close!

Our cute little tree with our stockings. No chimney. But I'd say we decorated pretty darn well! The stockings were hung a little weird cuz my friends were freaked out we'd get in trouble if we poked holes in the walls. So they only used pre-existing holes. So funny!

I memorized every single country's flag!

As I left work that night (New Years morning... around 2am) I went to catch the bus home.

Check out this line!!! Here you see busses one and two. I was on the fourth one. It was insane! You can see the hats they gave us and we also got free food! It was a fantastic last night!

Kelly and I in the Land. We took a picture of ourselves...

And then we realized we were both wearing the same shirt! Dang, great minds think alike!

Me, Jean and Alyssa. Our.. well... at least my... final night at Image!

Me, Jean, Alyssa, and Marina. As we were walking across the park Jean was really into taking photos and for some we used my camera. I think it's so cute how Jean got Alyssa to do the peace sign. I think she thinks we think (follow that?) that's super cool or something. So funny! All the Asian kids do that in their photos. Jeans doing it in the previous one.

Me, Jean and Alyssa. In case you're wondering why Marina kept getting left out it's because she was one of the new kids who we still didn't know very well. We hadn't really bonded with her (although I think she's awesome! The more I got to know her the more I liked her) and she just offered to take the pictures. I felt bad so I made her be in the one before this one.

I drew this pic of Donald Duck!! I did!!! Really! And I was really excited about it too, until I looked at the 8 year old girl sitting next to me who totally showed me up. Lame....

Ahhh EPCOT. How I love you!!

The Living Seas. One of my three places in my location. Actually, I guess it's "The Seas with Nemo and Friends" now. This is the entrance to the ride. I only worked in the shop.

Kelly and I took pictures in the aquarium. It is so beautiful. I love it!

The Land. Another of my locations.

We put these signs up. People would come up to us, "Are you really out of tickets? What about us. We really wanted to go on this ride! It'll totally ruin our whole vacation if we don't get fastpasses." Yeah, sorry. You can still go on the ride. But in this case it was a three hours wait. Yeah, popular.

Figment. My main area of expertise. If you could call it that.

I found him.

My 3D glasses in Honey I Shrunk the Audience.

Kelly at work in HS with her light saber. You SELL that thing girl!!

Spectacle of the Dancing lights in Hollywood Studios Christmas Eve. This show is awesome. And you can wear 3D glasses that are supposed to make it better (we didn't really see a huge difference but... ya know...)

Kelly and Lis

My room. Day of packing, packing and more packing. Glad my roommate was gone.

My friend thought it would be cool to get a shot of me throwing my hat up in front of the castle. Except it was night. And this was the best shot we ended up with. When we got it, we had already been trying for so long we just said, "Eh, good enough." and gave up. Still, it works okay. You can kind o f see the hat barely in the frame on top.

On the plane ride back to Idaho I figured this little thing out. Here's how it's supposed to start (getting it into start position is hard enough!)

And pretty much two steps later you're here and ready for the final step.

Yep. Only three steps pretty much to solve. Lame right? It's actually really fun to play with though!
